Picnic and Hike at the Indian Ladder Trail in Thacher Park

Saturday, July 30th 12:00 p.m. until Dusk

Join the Albany Chapter of Earthwise Gyre and the Temple of Astral Light for a Picnic, Hike, Lammas Ritual, and Summer Games at scenic and historic John Boyd Thacher State Park!

We will meet in the parking lot at the Indian Ladder Picnic Area (see directions) at noon to hike along the historic Indian Ladder Trail. Here we will see limestone caves, fossil formations, waterfalls, and breathtaking views of the Capital District area. More advanced hikers are also welcome to pursue some of the more than twelve additional miles of trails on their own as well.

After our hike we will return to the Indian Ladder Picnic Area for a pot luck picnic and cookout followed by a Lammas ritual with the Temple of Astral Light and exciting summer games throughout the day!

What to Bring: $6 park entry fee, a dish to share or food to cook on the park hibachi, beverages, utensils, lawn chairs, and your favorite outdoor games and activities!
